Is there Turo age limit? Yes, Turo has a set of requirements that you must meet in order to qualify for that rental car you need. Some of these requirements are general while some are region specific. How old to rent on Turo do you need to be?

In the United States, you can rent if you are 18 years or older but you must be 21 years or older to book a car with a total market value of over $20,000.

Turo Age Limit. How old to rent on Turo do you need to be?

The age requirements that I will outline apply at the time of booking not the age you will be on the day of the trip.

United States Turo Age Limit

To book a trip with a peer-to-peer host, you must be 18 years or older. For those between the age of 18-20, you will have to pay a youthful surcharge of $50 per day. If you are between the age of 21-25, you will have to pay a youthful surcharge of $30 per day.

You must be 21 years or older to book a car with a fair market value of $20,000.

You must be 30 years or older to book a Super Deluxe Class car (Vehicles in the US valued over $85K) or a specialty vehicle.
You must be 25 years or older to book a Deluxe Class car (Vehicles in the US valued from $55K to $85K).

For trips with a Commercial host;

• The commercial host will set their own age restrictions for certain vehicles and young driver fees. Turo requires them to disclose this information in their listing.
• A commercial host will provide their own insurance, therefore, you won’t choose a protection plan in Turo.
• You must be 21 or older to book with commercial hosts.

Canada Turo Age Limit

To book a trip on Turo with all the hosts, you are required to be 21 years or older. To book a Super deluxe class or specialty vehicle, you must be 30 years and above. To book a Deluxe Class car, you must be 25 years or older.

For trips with a Commercial host;

• The commercial host will set their own age restrictions for certain vehicles and young driver fees. Turo requires them to disclose this information in their listing.

UK Turo Age Limit

For trips with peer-to-peer hosts,

• If you are under 25 you must pay a young driver fee of £25 per day.

For trips with a Commercial host;

• The commercial host will set their own age restrictions for certain vehicles and young driver fees. Turo requires them to disclose this information in their listing.

For trips with all hosts in the UK;

• You must be at least 21 years old and no older than 74 years to book a car
• You must be 25 years old or older to book a Deluxe Class car and 30 or older to book a super Deluxe Class Car.
• Those that are under 25 can only book cars identified as Group 1-16 by the Association of British Insurers.

Regions Outside US, UK, and Canada

You must be 21 years old or older to book a car

If you’re age 18-21, you can’t decline a protection plan or choose Premier protection.

You must choose either the Minimum protection plan or the Standard protection plan.  

Also note that, if you decline, you will still get the minimum liability coverage required by the state from Turo.
